Don Quixote is a novel written by Miguel de Cervantes which follows the quests of Alonso Quixano, and retired gentleman who believes himself to be a knight-errant. Among his adventures, he meets a young farm girl (Aldonza) whom he believes to be his lady Dulcinea, convinces a neighbor, Sancho Panza, to be his squire, and fights some windmills which he believes to be giants. The story has been adapted into a television movie (I, Don Quixote) and a stage/film musical (Man of La Mancha).

Your challenge is to write a story inspired by or somehow involving the story of Don Quixote. It can touch upon one of the themes of the story. It can place the NCIS characters into the plot of Don Quixote. It can be one (or more) of the characters enjoying Don Quixote or one of it's many adaptations. A few ideas to keep in mind:

* Don Quixote has a way of seeing ordinary things as extraordinary. He sees himself as a knight-errant. He sees Sancho Panza as a squire. He sees a poor farm girl (or, in some versions, a prostitute) as a high-born lady. He sees a shaving bowl as a golden helmet.

* The idea of The Impossible Dream is a theme especially seen in Man of La Mancha. Within the song of the same name, Don Quixote explains to Aldonza that his quest is to dream the impossible dream and that, for better or worse, he will continue to fight until he dies.

* From Don Quixote we get the term "tilting at windmills" which refers to someone either attacking a person or problem that doesn't really exist or heading into a fight they could not possibly win.

*(ETA) Also, from Don Quixote, we get the term "quixotic" which means "foolishly impractical especially in the pursuit of ideals; especially marked by rash lofty romantic ideas or extravagantly chivalrous action"
